I just read in a magazine that in New York a federal appellate court has upheld a ruling that an atheist cannot be forced by the court to attend AA. The man, convicted of a DUI charge, was ordered to attend meetings but sued on the grounds of religious freedom because "the meetings involve religious exercises."
