Big messy emotions

Rather than drink, a beginner hands her pain to God

After 20 years of drinking and four rehabs, I finally made it to AA to stay. As a newcomer I would like to share my experience with Steps One to Three. After my third relapse, I had one of those life moments in which I was hurt and angry and there was nothing I could do about it. The situation was out of my control. As I drove home from work one day, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I knew I couldn't continue to feel that way. I had learned in AA that it was normal to feel, but I was so uncomfortable, I couldn't conjure up any peace whatsoever.
