LIFE WITH NO LIMITS

Pain didn't have to be an obstacle to having fun

I got sober in 1992 in my late 20s, and in my 30s I became active and fit, walking and hiking regularly. Then suddenly I started having lots of tendon problems that wouldn't heal. My life changed dramatically over the course of two to three years. Suddenly I could no longer do many of the things I used to do. At age 42, after 14 years of sobriety, I was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune arthritis disease that causes chronic inflammation and pain in multiple joints. Even with medical treatment, I still live with daily chronic pain. Walking around the grocery store is challenging, and some days I am unable to do even that.
