Half a day at a time

Counting sobriety in hours and minutes, a newcomer realizes he'll be all right

In 1982 I was fired from my job in Santa Monica for drinking all the time. I had been seriously trying to get sober. The machinist with the company I was fired from reached out. He had been sober for 10 years, and he introduced me to AA and got me a few books, including Living Sober,a great book for newcomers.
