FOUR DAYS AND COUNTING

A teen, barely sober and struggling, attends a YPAA and is hooked

I WAS 14 years old at my first AA meeting. The nickname of the meeting was "The Old-timers" due to many members of that group having long-term sobriety. As a kid wearing all black and with a serious attitude problem, I was shocked when I walked through the doors. I was surrounded by people old enough to be my parents or grandparents. I remember thinking, I have at least 80 more years until I become an alcoholic.
