Don't sugarcoat it

A female AA rejoices in the honesty and support of her women's group

OH, the power, the joy, the awesomeness of 45 women in one room saying the Lord's Prayer at the end of what turned out to be a gratitude meeting. This is why I am still on this journey with these women. This is why I love service work. This is why my passion is to help women get sober and get their power back. Meetings like these give meaning to the pain, heartbreak, loss and sorrow of the childhood I survived, the recovery I have been able to achieve. This is the reason to share my experience, strength and hope with all women struggling with this disease. I tell them they must never give up hope or quit quitting. There are women all over the world doing just what you and I are doing each day: living--one day at a time--sober, powerful, meaningful lives without alcohol.
