A police chief realizes his arrest is just what he needed
I had been in jail thousands of times over the past 20 years, always free to leave after delivering a drunk, wife-beater or drug dealer. This time freedom was not a choice.
It seems my final run with alcohol was horrific enough to degrade me from police chief to prisoner with lightning speed. I had been booked into jail by the officers who worked for me.
What I didn't know at the time was that freedom was very near. A freedom I never knew existed and a liberty I'd never experienced were all patiently waiting for a decision and a choice only I could make.
