July 2010

EDITOR'S NOTE

July is a very special month for Alcoholics Anonymous

Thousands of AAs will gather in San Antonio, Texas, from July 1-4 to celebrate AA's 75th anniversary at the 2010 International Convention. For those who can't join the party, the stories in this month's special section give a taste of what celebrating AA-style is like. First, we have a message reflecting on the convention theme, "A Vision for Us," by Ward Ewing, the AA General Service Board's nonalcoholic chair. Then "Bikes and Bagpipes" shows an up-close and personal view of the annual Founders' Day event that celebrates the June 10, 1935, birth of AA in Akron, Ohio. Finally, in "Party in the Park," a member from San Antonio shares his memories of the Toronto 2005 Convention.
