A young woman hits bottom and leads her father to recognize his own alcoholism

I AM writing this story as the father of an alcoholic child. I have gone through some remarkable experiences as a direct result of my daughter's drinking.

Without getting into pointless details, my wife, three children and I lived overseas for the better part of a decade and we lived a life of opulence and privilege. There was not much that I could not buy or do but, unfortunately, I never really developed any kind of appreciation for the advantages that I had. In fact, I developed addictions for spending and created exaggerated lifestyle behaviors that were constantly pushing the limits of what I could get away with.
