Book Fair Fiasco

A confrontation at work provided a newcomer with an opportunity to practice acceptance

For 90 days, I had not picked up a drink and I went to lots of meetings. Every day I read a small portion of the Big Book. The memories that had been tormenting me were becoming lessons to learn.

Then came my first big test when the principal at the school I worked for strode into the school library in her high-heeled boots. Smiling with genuine friendliness, she approached me while I dragged another student table towards my office door.
