Why I Stayed

Someone asked me recently why I stayed in a marriage during several episodes of very painful years. "Why did you stay?" I have been wondering what the answer is. If I knew the answer, I could hang a shingle and be the world's greatest marriage coach, change the 50% divorce rate and help people get to their happy place with their current mates … but I don't know the answer. I can only tell what happened in my case.
