How It Works Behind the Walls
UPON MY arrival at this camp, it was suggested I attend AA. Soon, I learned there are three meetings available each week.
The AA group, which is sponsored by an alcoholic from a nearby "outside" group, meets every Thursday evening in the visiting room, where AA guests from outside are welcome to speak. Many are ex-convicts who have found a better way of life through AA outside prison.
Recently, restrictions were lifted in order to permit women speakers to attend our meetings. The women seemed dubious at first and were reluctant to speak before an audience of convicts.... Login to read more
