On the Skids

I was born in Haileybury. I grew up on Bear Island. I was born out of wedlock--the only child between my mother and my natural father. My mother married another man in 1956, so I had five half brothers and one half sister. My mother's husband never did adopt me, though, and I was raised by my grandparents.
