Everything to Gain and Nothing to Lose

I am presently incarcerated in the county jail, and I now realize it's the direct result of my drinking. It didn't take me long to lose everything I had: my freedom, my child, and my self-respect.

I started drinking at the age of eleven. At that time, I didn't realize that my behavior while drinking was socially unacceptable. A lot of my friends drank--it was the "in" thing to do. As I grew older my alcoholism progressed.
