A high roller takes a spin in the revolving door

I got out of prison in 1975 when I was twenty-nine. The two things I had achieved in prison were a GED and one year of sobriety, thanks to the AA program. I started attending AA behind the walls at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville in 1974. Nothing had worked until I got into AA. When I was released from prison, I started attending AA regularly and did not drink alcohol or use any drugs. Before long, I was involved in service work and had five years of sobriety. I was going to AA meetings two to three times a day.
