AMA: 'AA still the best'

In November, 1965 the American Medical Association said alcoholism was the nation's fourth most important public health problem following heart disease, mental illness and cancer. In a release dated March 1967, the AMA moved alcoholism up a notch: it is now the third most serious problem, following heart disease and mental illness but leading cancer.
