LONDON, ENGLAND--Patients suffering from "sensitive" illnesses like alcoholism are able to respond more honestly to questions put to them by a medical computer than to an interview by a doctor. That's the conclusion of researchers at Britain's National Physical Laboratory in Teddington, Middlesex, where the latest diagnostic aid, Mickie, has been put through its paces.
