Applying Spiritual Concepts

He began a new life of service to others and in doing so, saved himself

THE REGULAR Saturday morning men's meeting at my group kicked off as usual at eight-thirty, after coffee and doughnuts. This meeting included representatives of every race and religion in our area. There were blacks, whites, browns, reds, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and, of course, agnostics. In short, God's special rainbow. Here we were all meeting under one universal God, expressing Himself to us and through us. There were men from all fields of work, all alcoholics. Various phases of spiritual growth were shared. The coffee container was constantly passed around, and some poured for others. As I listened to the language of the heart, I became more deeply aware of the effects of God's power and grace in my own life.
