Getting sober, for the blind author of "Don't Cry for Me: Smile!" just meant dealing with reality, and that, in his words, "sucked." "It would take a God to change that," he writes. But through AA, sharing with friends and praying, he's able to become a more positive person. And, being blind has had its blessings. "I can't tune anyone out," he writes. "I grew to love listening to postive speakers who had gone through the madness like me, to learn what they are doing now."
How have you accepted negative events in sobriety? Have they ever turned into "blessings in disguise"?
