Sweet Music for a Tough Time

Two sober roommates strive to keep growing and inspiring one another as they make the best of a crisis

It’s been 98 days since New York City declared a state of emergency due to the COVID outbreak. After beginning Phase 1 reopening last week, much of the city is still closed and I never leave the apartment without a face mask. Between the pandemic, which demands isolation, and ongoing protests outside, it’s easy to feel anxious. And yet, thanks to AA, I feel blessed by my life these days.
