I was almost a year sober and starting to feel pretty "safe." I knew that alcohol was cunning, baffling and powerful, but that afternoon I was about to learn that it is also patient and very sneaky.
After work I stopped by a small "mom and pop" grocery store less than half a mile from my home. I needed some groceries, but I sure got a lot more that afternoon!
