Relapse can often be a part of recovery, as this month’s stories by members demonstrate.

In “Slip and Slide,” an AA in Australia writes that until he learned to love his new life, he kept getting drunk. The same situation occurs for a woman in “Go Mow the Lawn,” who discovers that by grabbing hold of the tools of recovery she becomes the person she was meant to be. And in “Six–Pack and Back,” a member is in and out for 34 years before developing a relationship with a Higher Power. “If I had had a reliance on God and not people, the outcome might have been different,” he writes.
