Our Personal Stories

The narrator of "In the Detox" realized that being homeless didn't mean he was hopeless

This week's collection of stories features a diverse group of AA members. In "A Nun's Story," we hear from a nun who had to come to a new belief in God when she got sober. Meanwhile, in "Tomorrow Never Comes," a member describes how she tried to quit drinking every day for years until she came into AA and quit for good.

In another story, a man is spared such degradations of alcoholism when he has a vision of himself falling into a chasm and is able to stop before it's too late.

And in "Game Over," a woman realizes that doing the Steps is not a competition and that no one wins for finishing first.
