Women who started drinking in teens risk alcoholism
Women born after 1944, who started drinking younger than those born earlier, had a 50 to 80 percent greater risk for alcohol dependence, research at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, showed. On average, the older women took their first drink at age twenty; the younger women, at age seventeen.
