Remembrance of Things Past
A daughter reflects upon her mother's death from alcoholism
I have always enjoyed movies like Scrooge where the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future come to visit and show the main character the errors of his ways. Plots like this me make me wish those spirits would show up and speak to me because I miss my mom who has passed away.
My mother died several years ago from alcoholism just before she turned 70. She was suffering from liver disease.
Although my childhood was very dysfunctional, I miss her terribly and sometimes I get depressed. I used to ask God, "Why?" I would pray so many nights for God to help my mom quit... Login to read more
