What a Concept

Our Concepts aren’t only for service geeks. A member in New Jersey explains why

Recently, I attended the GSR/DCM workshop for several districts in Area 44, Northern New Jersey. This was a four-hour workshop for new GSRs (General Service Representatives) and DCMs (District Committee Members) to help familiarize them with their new roles and responsibilities and to help them understand the general service structure in our area. The area’s GSR/DCM workshop chair, Luke H., discussed how AA history led us to the establishment of the areas as a way to elect delegates to attend a General Service Conference (GSC) through the GSRs who represent the groups. One driving factor that led to setting up this structure for AA was the realization by our co-founders, Bill W. and Dr. Bob, that they would not always be around to guide our Fellowship.
