Sober ham radio operators carry the message into the clouds
We are two recovering alcoholics, husband and wife, and we are also licensed amateur radio operators (commonly called “hams.”) We live in Northwestern Michigan, and our call signs are: Terry—AA9BA and Dave—WS9T.
Every day we are near one of our radios, we check into HAAM, or The Friends of Bill W. (FOBW). This is a meeting broadcast live on radio in which recovering alcoholics who are hams, living all over the U.S. and Canada, can talk to each other and share our experience, strength, and hope.
