Basking in the Joy

A long-time member celebrates the fellowship of his daily home group

During the past 20 years, I have enjoyed being a member of several home groups while serving as Intergroup Representative (I.R.) and General Service Representative (GSR). This involvement led me into serving as a LocalCommittee Member (LCM) in my district where I also served with our Public Information (P.I.) and Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC) committees. Chairing my district's Correctional Facilities Committee was the most rewarding for me. After these two-year commitments, came two years each of Alternate District Committee Member and District Committee Member (DCM).

I quit being so active in the service structure of AA so I could devote myself full time to being a sponsor. Those whom I sponsored eventually drifted away and I did the same with my sponsor. I left my regular home group this year.
