When Hurricane Sandy hit the New Jersey shore many of our meeting places were either destroyed or displaced. And because we had no electricity for weeks, our neighborhoods were under a curfew and we were not allowed to go out on the streets after dark.
So a group of us got together and put the word out about a “pre-curfew” AA meeting in my backyard (above). Hot food was served from the grill, and supplies were brought in from as far as Pennsylvania! I’m so grateful for those AA members who showed up to help us all stay sober and sane during...
