July 2013: The Sweet Smell of Freedom
I was an alcoholic who drank a lot and went to jail a lot. And here I was again, sitting in jail, wondering how I was going to stop this endless cycle my life was on. I was still escaping with whatever I could get my hands on to help ease the pain inside of me.
One night, there was a woman from the outside attending the AA meeting we had in our unit. I had not seen a woman out of uniform in a long time, so I decided to go to the meeting.
