Because she was so young and had many yets, it was hard to identify at first
I’ve been sober since January 15, 1980. I got sober when I was 25 years and have stayed sober in AA ever since my first meeting. Though I say that I’ve had continuous sobriety since that date, it wasn’t an easy road for me. Not by a long-shot. In fact, it was very, very difficult to get my sober legs underneath me.
I was a very young girl and I couldn’t identify with being “alcoholic” for the first whole year I was sober. In meetings I’d say, “My name is Robin, and I am an alcoholic.” But in my heart, I really couldn’t identify with that word. It was just... Login to read more
