The Florida sun was hot and the beer was cold, but she “thought through the drink” and came out on the other side, sober and celebrating
In March 2016, a few days after my eighth sobriety anniversary, I was in Florida at spring training baseball games—a retirement present to myself. Those draft beers in the souvenir cups were looking really good! I've been to dozens of baseball games in sobriety, alone and with others (mostly drinkers), and usually just commented to myself how much money I was saving by sticking to a bottle of water that I would refill.
