Calm and quiet

After struggling to find an Eleventh Step practice that works for him, he took a leap of faith and finally found emotional balance

Step Eleven: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Even though I’ve been sober since 2004, I had struggled to find an Eleventh Step practice that worked for me. I continued to “fake it,” hanging on to any tiny example of peace and quiet as my daily meditation. This included basic gardening, the “quiet” five minutes it took me to send out my Daily Reading emails each morning and even washing the dishes.
