Little did he know, he was about to embark on the ride of his life

When I first came to my home group I was welcomed with open arms. The members asked nothing of me. They gave me a place to rest. They gave me food when I was hungry. They gave their ears to hear my fears. They gave unconditionally.
We seemed to always be meeting at parking lots, piling into a cramped car for the ride to the next commitment. All I seemed to hear was, “Get in the car.” Even after some time passed and the fog in my brain lifted a bit, I continued to just get in the car.
