July 2011: After the Crash

She confronted her disease head-on after a devastating collision
"After a failed sobriety test at the crash site, I was transported to jail."
On July 1, 2007, while driving home from my usual sojourn at the bar, I passed out from excessive consumption of alcohol. My car, however, kept going, lurching forward along the curb and hitting three bicyclists enjoying a Sunday afternoon ride. A man died. His wife and friend were seriously injured.
After a failed sobriety test at the crash site, I was transported to jail. Two days after entering jail, bond was set and I was released. I could now go home and experience many more horrific events before my trial and sentencing, if I didn’t do something different.
