OUR town, which boasts of a population of around 8,000, is located about fifty miles from St. Louis. It is a good industrial town and the people are essentially German. They are quite conservative and for the most part the favorite beverage is beer. Needless to say, quantities of other alcoholic beverages are consumed as well.
