I Still Had My Wristwatch

She came to AA in a condition of spiritual--if not financial--poverty

BY THE TIME AA found me, I was a round-the-clock drinker, totally dependent upon alcohol and accustomed to sobering up in restraints in a sanitarium. Because I had watched others close to me die, I knew it was going to happen to me if I kept on drinking.
