No matter who we are, or what our station in life, we're all one in AA

THE SPEAKER was a large, jet black Negro woman, with a smile on her face. She said, "My name is Glimmer." And her eyes really gleamed as she told of living a life as a sharecropper and a cotton-picker and becoming a wino-alcoholic. She used to go on foot to the drive-up window of the local liquor store, with nickels and pennies in her hand, and order a bottle of cheap wine. She was usually short from five to eight or ten cents, but as soon as she got the bottle of wine, she would lay down what coins she had, and run.
