Playing the Odds
As long as we stick with the program, we can bet on life and sobriety
A BUNCH OF folks in my home-group meeting were bouncing statistics around one night--three out of four, one out of two, and so forth. It occurred to me that I was really a long shot. The odds on my going without a drink for ten years and six-plus months must have been 1,000,000 to 1 against--and that's a conservative estimate.
