The Serenity Prayer

TEN YEARS before I came into AA, I was divorced from an alcoholic husband. I had attended AA meetings with him and had loved the Fellowship from the other side of the fence. And yet, when I needed help for myself, I wasn't mentally capable of reaching out for it. Then the miracle happened. My Higher Power worked through another person to carry the AA message to me, and thanks to the same Higher Power, the God of my own understanding, I was receptive.
