The Slow Route Home

Sobriety has given me the gift of a busy life, and in middle age, the privilege of being a full-time student. I spend several days a week away from home at school, and I'm not able to attend as many AA meetings as I'm accustomed to. (I'm fortunate to have gotten sober in a locale where there are several meetings every day.) I now relish the arrival of the Grapevine and immediately set school work aside to sit down and absorb a "meeting in print." The articles and letters help keep me connected and are always a timely reminder of my primary purpose.
