Problems with the Alcoholic Executive

Here is the "Half-Man" in business, the individual who does not get too drunk to function at all but who can operate only at half-speed with his morning hangover and four-martini lunch

NO ONE has yet measured the waste of American productivity resulting directly and indirectly from the alcoholic executive. But we do know there are executives at every level who are having or will have trouble with drinking. The disease of alcoholism is no more a respecter of status and efficiency than cancer, and it's just as deadly--perhaps more deadly in terms of numbers affected and the long term of its crippling progression.
