What Is Your Concern?

A final word on the subject from our co-founder Bill W.

AT OUR STATE CONVENTION in l965, several of us were talking about one of our former members, who had died drunk after eighteen years of sobriety. We decided to make a survey of the long-timers who were no longer coming to meetings and find out why they were not active. Four of us divided the state and questioned the men in our areas. On one of my trips to New York, at the end of the year, I took the file we had made into the office of our co-founder Bill W. and showed it to him. I asked what we could do to get these men active again.
