A Life Worth Living

I was born and raised on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation in North Dakota during the 1930s and 1940s. For those who don't know, an American Indian was not a citizen of the United States in those days, but was classified as a ward of the government, under the "case" of the Secretary of the Interior, along with Federal Game and Wildlife and Park Reserves.
