The soft touch from a tough guy
Some time ago, we had a rather long thread on "humility." Some wise soul came up with: "Humility is when I stop fighting reality." Sounds good to me. In turn, then, pride is when I keep on fighting reality. There is a lot of that in my life. It is what helped me become an alcoholic, and what keeps trying to pull me down into my disease.
