IN the Twelve Steps of our Recovery Program, the words Power, God and pronoun Him is used nine times, and in the Twelve Traditions there is a constant trend, calling attention to the Deity in phrases such as "A loving God," "Spiritual entity," "Spiritual Significance," "Spirit of service," "He Who presides over us all" etc, but in spite of the emphasis placed on this many good AA members, including many chairmen--completely ignore the Spiritual aspect of the program, once the meeting is under way.
