Not A Pretty Drinker

At seven years sober, a twenty-two-year-old looks back

I grew up in a middle-class suburban home with two nonalcoholic parents. I was intelligent, pretty, and popular, but felt an enormous hole inside me. I wrote morbid poetry and cried myself to sleep every night.
