Dear Grapevine

I APPRECIATE Cyril S.'s comments on "Drunk Dreams" (May 2010). I have had a few of them myself over my 34 years of sobriety. At first they scared me. I woke up feeling drunk without the hangover and thinking that I had been deceiving my AA/AL-Anon wife, sponsor, and AA friends. Now, I am able to wake myself, recognize that it's a dream and file it away as a warning to continue to be on guard against taking that first disastrous drink.
