Alcoholics' treatment costs at a therapeutic center are deductible as medical expenses, the Internal Revenue Service rules. The deductible items include room and board. In issuing the new ruling, the IRS reminds taxpayers that expenses of attending meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous also are deductible.
