Alcohol-Drug Merger?

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.--Growing numbers of state drug-abuse-program planners are coming out in favor of a more intimate mesh of alcohol and drug responses at local, state, and Federal levels.

Judging from the rhetoric at the recent annual meeting of the National Association of State Drug Abuse Program Coordinators (NASDAPC), there is a feeling of unease about the parochialism and jurisdictional jealousies that have often accompanied creation of substance-oriented fiefdoms.
